For the sweet corn:

  • 2 cups frozen or fresh corn kernels
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt, to taste

For the country gravy:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Roast Chicken: Preheat oven to 375°F. Rub chicken with melted butter, season with salt, pepper, thyme, and garlic powder. Stuff cavity with onion and garlic. Roast for 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F. Let rest before carving.
  2. Mashed Potatoes: Boil potatoes until tender. Drain and mash with butter and warm milk. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Buttered Noodles: Cook noodles, toss with butter and salt. Garnish with parsley.
  4. Sweet Corn: Heat corn with butter and sugar until warmed. Season with salt.
  5. Country Gravy: Melt butter, whisk in flour. Slowly add broth and milk. Simmer until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
