Ingredients
Scale
Beef Marinade
- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
Sauce
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
Other Ingredients
- 8 oz lo mein noodles (or spaghetti)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers (any color)
- 1/2 cup snow peas (optional)
- 3 green onions, sliced for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the Beef: In a medium bowl, combine 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, and 1 teaspoon sesame oil. Add the thinly sliced flank steak and toss to coat evenly. Let it marinate for 15 minutes to tenderize the beef and infuse it with flavor.
- Cook the Noodles: Prepare the lo mein noodles according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the noodles well and set them aside to be added later.
- Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup soy sauce, 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, 2 tablespoons oyster sauce, minced garlic, and minced ginger until smooth and well combined.
- Stir-Fry the Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2 to 3 minutes until the beef is browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
- Cook the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon vegetable oil. Add shredded carrots, broccoli florets, sliced bell peppers, and snow peas (if using). Stir-fry the vegetables for 3 to 4 minutes until they are tender-crisp.
- Combine Everything: Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Add the drained noodles and pour the prepared sauce over the top. Toss everything together and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes on medium heat, ensuring the noodles and beef are well coated with the sauce and heated through.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions. Serve the beef lo mein hot for a satisfying meal.
