Egg Noodles:

  • 12 oz egg noodles

Ground Beef Mixture:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the noodles: Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Sauté the beef mixture: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat. Add onion, garlic, and mushrooms, and sauté until softened.
  4. Make the sauce: Sprinkle in flour and stir to coat. Gradually add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Simmer until slightly thickened.
  5. Combine ingredients: Remove from heat and stir in sour cream, half of the cheese, salt, and pepper. Add cooked noodles and mix well.
  6. Bake: Transfer mixture to baking dish, top with remaining cheese, and bake for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Serve: Garnish with parsley before serving.

  • You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or cooked shredded beef.
