Description

This Big Mac Pizza recipe creatively combines the flavors of a classic Big Mac burger with the beloved format of a pizza. Featuring seasoned ground beef, a tangy special sauce reminiscent of Thousand Island dressing, and classic toppings like pickles, onions, and shredded lettuce, this pizza offers a unique and delicious meal perfect for burger and pizza lovers alike.

Ingredients

Scale

Pizza Base

  • 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

Beef Topping

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning or 1 tbsp hamburger seasoning
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Cheese

  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Fresh Toppings

  • 1/2 cup pickles, sliced
  • 1/4 cup onions, finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce

Special Sauce

  • 1/4 cup special sauce (recipe below or use Thousand Island dressing)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped pickles or relish
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and prepare your pizza dough by rolling it out on a baking sheet or pizza stone to form the pizza base.
  2. Cook the Ground Beef: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Drain excess fat. Stir in taco seasoning or hamburger seasoning until the meat is evenly coated. Set aside.
  3. Make the Special Sauce (Optional): In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, finely chopped pickles or relish, white vinegar, paprika, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
  4. Assemble the Pizza: Spread a thin layer of the special sauce or Thousand Island dressing over the rolled-out pizza dough. Evenly distribute the cooked, seasoned ground beef over the sauce, then sprinkle with a mixture of shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
  5. Bake the Pizza: Place the assembled pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Add Fresh Toppings: Remove the pizza from the oven and immediately top with sliced pickles, finely chopped onions, and shredded iceberg lettuce. Optionally, drizzle additional special sauce over the fresh toppings.
  7. Serve: Slice the Big Mac Pizza and serve hot for a fun and flavorful meal that combines the best of burgers and pizza.

Notes

  • You can substitute the taco seasoning with hamburger seasoning or your preferred burger seasoning blend.
  • For a quicker version, use store-bought Thousand Island dressing instead of making the special sauce.
  • Use a pizza stone if available for a crisper crust, or a baking sheet if not.
  • Adjust the amount of lettuce and pickles according to your preference to keep the classic Big Mac flavor balance.
  • Leftover pizza can be refrigerated and reheated in the oven for best texture.
