Description

Delicious and savory Breakfast Rolls filled with sausage, scrambled eggs, and melted cheddar cheese, wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough. Perfect for a quick and satisfying breakfast or brunch that the whole family will love.

Ingredients

Scale

Breakfast Rolls

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 1 tube (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional, for greasing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet with butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Cook Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until it is browned and crumbled. Drain any excess grease and set the cooked sausage aside.
  3. Cook Eggs: In a separate pan, scramble the eggs with a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook over low heat until the eggs are just set, stirring occasionally to ensure they remain soft. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Prepare Crescent Rolls: Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles. Lay the triangles flat on a clean surface to prepare for filling.
  5. Assemble Rolls: Place a spoonful of cooked sausage, scrambled eggs, and a generous amount of shredded cheddar cheese in the center of each dough triangle.
  6. Roll Up: Starting from the wide end of each triangle, roll the dough tightly towards the narrow end, sealing the edges to fully enclose the filling. Place the rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake: Bake the assembled rolls in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the cheese inside is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve: Allow the breakfast rolls to cool for a few minutes after baking. Serve warm for a delicious and hearty breakfast or brunch treat.

Notes

  • You can substitute cheddar cheese with mozzarella or pepper jack for a different flavor.
  • For a lower-fat option, use turkey sausage and reduced-fat cheese.
  • Make sure to seal the edges well to prevent filling from leaking during baking.
  • These rolls can be prepared ahead of time and baked fresh in the morning.
  • Add chopped veggies like bell peppers or onions to the scrambled eggs for extra nutrition and flavor.
