Ingredients
Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Wet Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups whole milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
Garnish
- Chopped parsley or chives (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder until evenly combined. Stir in the shredded sharp cheddar and grated Parmesan cheeses, distributing them throughout the mixture.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk the whole milk, large egg, and melted unsalted butter until smooth and well blended.
- Mix Batter: Pour the wet ingredient mixture into the dry ingredients and stir just until the batter is combined. Be careful not to overmix to ensure a tender crumb.
- Fill Loaf Pan: Spoon the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top evenly with a spatula.
- Bake: Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 45 to 55 minutes. The bread is done when the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Garnish: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack. Optionally, garnish with chopped parsley or chives. Serve warm or at room temperature.
