Indulge in the irresistible combination of cheesy goodness and vibrant spinach in this Cheesy Spinach Stuffed Bread recipe. It’s a perfect appetizer or side dish for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale

Bread:

  • 1 large French bread loaf (about 16 inches)

Spinach Filling:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 5 ounces fresh spinach (chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare Bread: Slice the French bread in half lengthwise and scoop out some of the bread from the center of each half to create a shallow well. Place both halves on a lined baking sheet.
  3. Cook Spinach: Heat olive oil in a skillet, sauté garlic, add spinach, salt, and pepper. Cook until wilted.
  4. Make Filling: Combine cooked spinach, cream cheese, sour cream, mozzarella, cheddar, Parmesan, and red pepper flakes. Mix until smooth.
  5. Fill Bread: Spoon the mixture into the bread halves. Bake for 15–18 minutes until bubbly. Broil for a golden top.
  6. Finish and Serve: Garnish with parsley, cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • You can use frozen spinach (thawed and drained) as a substitute.
  • This makes a great appetizer, side, or game-day snack.
