Description

Delight in the zesty flavors of chili lime shrimp paired with a creamy avocado crema in this vibrant and satisfying dish.

Ingredients

Scale

Chili Lime Shrimp:

  • 1 pound large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Zest and juice of 1 lime
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Avocado Crema:

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Marinate Shrimp: In a bowl, combine shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, garlic powder, lime zest, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Marinate for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Make Avocado Crema: Blend avocado, sour cream (or yogurt), lime juice, olive oil, cilantro, garlic powder, and salt until smooth.
  3. Cook Shrimp: Cook marinated shrimp in a skillet over medium-high heat for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  4. Serve: Serve shrimp with avocado crema. Enjoy with rice, tacos, or salad.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the marinade.
  • Avocado crema can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days with plastic wrap pressed directly on the surface to prevent browning.
