Scale
Cookie Dough:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Add-ins:
- 2 cups peanut butter chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
- Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in the peanut butter chips.
- Bake: Scoop the dough into tablespoon-sized balls and place on prepared baking sheets. Bake for 9–11 minutes or until the edges are set and the centers are slightly soft. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Do not overbake for soft, fudgy centers.
- For extra texture, mix in chopped roasted peanuts or chocolate chips.
