Ingredients
Scale
Lavender Infusion
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender
Mocktail
- 1/2 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice (about 4-5 lemons)
- 1/4 cup honey or agave syrup (or to taste)
- 1 cup coconut water
- 2 cups cold water
- Ice cubes
- Fresh lavender sprigs (for garnish, optional)
- Thin lemon slices (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Make the lavender infusion: In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup of water with the dried culinary lavender. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it just starts to simmer. Then, remove the saucepan from the heat and let the lavender steep for 5-10 minutes to allow the floral flavor to develop fully.
- Strain the infusion: Pour the lavender water through a fine mesh strainer into a separate container to remove the dried lavender buds. Discard the lavender buds, keeping only the infused liquid.
- Combine ingredients: In a large pitcher, mix together the fresh squeezed lemon juice, the lavender infusion, coconut water, cold water, and honey or agave syrup. Stir thoroughly until the sweetener is fully dissolved. Taste and adjust the sweetness as desired by adding more honey or syrup.
- Prepare to serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes to chill the drink perfectly.
- Pour and garnish: Pour the coconut lavender lemonade over the ice-filled glasses. Garnish each glass with fresh lavender sprigs and thin lemon slices to enhance the presentation and add subtle fragrance.
- Enjoy immediately: Serve this elegant and refreshing mocktail right away for the best flavor and experience.
Notes
- Adjust the sweetness according to your preference by adding more or less honey or agave syrup.
- Allow the lavender to steep longer for a more intense floral flavor or reduce the steeping time for a milder taste.
- Use fresh culinary lavender specifically labeled for cooking to ensure safety and best flavor.
- The mocktail is best served immediately but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
- For a sparkling version, substitute cold water with sparkling water.
