Ingredients
Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Sauce:
- 1 (10.5 oz) can condensed cream of chicken soup
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened and cubed
- 1 packet Italian dressing mix (about 0.7 oz)
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup dry white wine (optional)
- 1 tablespoon butter
Additional:
- 8 oz angel hair pasta
- Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Chicken: Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of a greased slow cooker.
- Cook Chicken: Pour the sauce over the chicken in the crockpot. Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or on high for 2–3 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
- Prepare Pasta: About 15 minutes before serving, cook the angel hair pasta according to package instructions.
In a saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter. Stir in the cream cheese, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, Italian dressing mix, and white wine (if using). Whisk until smooth and heated through.
Shred the chicken in the crockpot using two forks and stir it into the sauce. Serve the creamy chicken over the cooked angel hair pasta and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
Notes
- This dish can be made with chicken thighs for a richer flavor.
- For a thicker sauce, reduce the chicken broth slightly or cook uncovered for the last 30 minutes.
