Description

This delightful Grape Appetizer features juicy seedless grapes coated in a creamy cheese mixture and rolled in crunchy nuts and fresh chives. Perfect as an elegant yet easy finger food for holiday parties or casual gatherings, these bite-sized treats combine tangy blue or goat cheese with a hint of black pepper and the satisfying texture of pecans or walnuts. Chilled before serving, they offer a refreshing contrast of flavors and make a visually appealing appetizer that’s both gluten-free and vegetarian-friendly.

Ingredients

Scale

Grapes

  • 1 lb seedless grapes (red or green, washed and dried)

Cheese Mixture

  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese or goat cheese
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Coating

  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives

For Serving

  • Toothpicks

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cheese mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, crumbled blue cheese or goat cheese, black pepper, and half of the chopped nuts and chives. Mix thoroughly until well combined and creamy.
  2. Coat the grapes: Take a small spoonful of the cheese mixture and gently press it around each grape, ensuring they are fully coated. You can shape the mixture into a ball around the grape for a uniform look.
  3. Roll in nuts and chives: Roll each coated grape in the remaining chopped nuts and chives to form a crunchy and flavorful crust on the outside.
  4. Arrange and chill: Place the finished grape bites on a serving platter and insert a toothpick into each for easy serving. Refrigerate for 20–30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld and the coating to firm up.

Notes

  • Substitute mascarpone or herbed cream cheese for a milder cheese flavor.
  • Try different combinations of nuts and cheeses to suit your taste preferences.
  • These grape appetizers can be prepared several hours ahead and stored in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
