Ground beef is seasoned and cooked with onions and Worcestershire sauce, then wrapped with melted cheddar cheese and optional fresh toppings inside a warm tortilla. The wraps are pan-grilled until crispy and golden, making them perfect for a quick and satisfying meal that combines the flavors of a cheeseburger with the convenience of a handheld wrap.
Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil, for grilling
Optional Toppings
- Sliced pickles
- Lettuce
- Tomato
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Mayo
Instructions
- Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it is browned. Drain any excess fat. Add the finely chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Continue cooking for about 5 minutes until the onion softens and the beef is fully cooked. Remove from heat.
- Assemble the Wraps: Lay a tortilla flat and spoon about one-quarter of the beef mixture into the center. Top with shredded cheese and your choice of optional toppings such as pickles, lettuce, or tomato. Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling, then roll it tightly like a burrito, tucking in the sides as you go.
- Grill the Wraps: Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Brush the outside of each wrap with melted butter or a bit of olive oil. Place the wraps seam-side down in the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Remove the wraps from the skillet and let them cool for a minute. Slice each wrap in half and serve with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey for a leaner option.
- Feel free to experiment with different cheeses like mozzarella or pepper jack for added flavor.
- For a spicier kick, add some diced jalapeños or hot sauce to the beef mixture.
- To keep the wraps crispy, serve immediately after grilling.
- Use whole wheat tortillas for a healthier alternative.
