Description

Homemade Buckeye Fudge is a rich, creamy layered treat that brings together the irresistible combination of peanut butter and chocolate in an easy, no-bake dessert. Inspired by the classic Buckeye candies, this fudge features a smooth peanut butter base topped with a silky chocolate ganache, perfect for holidays, gift boxes, or any time you crave a sweet fix.

Ingredients

Scale

Peanut Butter Layer

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3½ cups powdered sugar

Chocolate Layer

  • 1½ cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal of the fudge later.
  2. Make Peanut Butter Layer: In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, creamy peanut butter, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined. Gradually add the powdered sugar, stirring continuously until the mixture forms a thick, dough-like consistency.
  3. Press Peanut Butter Mixture: Evenly press the peanut butter mixture into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula or your hands to form an even base layer.
  4. Prepare Chocolate Layer: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine semisweet chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Stir constantly until all ingredients are melted together and form a smooth, silky ganache.
  5. Assemble and Chill: Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the peanut butter layer and spread evenly with a spatula. Refrigerate the pan for at least 2 hours or until the fudge is fully set and firm.
  6. Cut and Serve: Once set, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the fudge out of the pan. Cut into 36 squares and serve or store as desired.

Notes

  • Store fudge in the refrigerator for up to 1 week or freeze for longer storage.
  • Use dark chocolate chips instead of semisweet for a less sweet chocolate topping.
  • For added texture, replace creamy peanut butter with crunchy peanut butter.
