These Hot Honey Chicken Bowls are a delicious combination of sweet, spicy, and savory flavors. Tender chicken coated in a sticky hot honey sauce served with rice, veggies, and avocado make a satisfying meal.

For the chicken:
- 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the hot honey:
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1–2 teaspoons red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
For the bowls:
- 2 cups cooked rice or quinoa
- 1 1/2 cups steamed or roasted broccoli
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1 avocado, sliced
- Optional toppings: sliced green onions, sesame seeds, lime wedges
Instructions
- Prepare the hot honey: In a small saucepan, combine honey, red pepper flakes, and vinegar. Warm over low heat for 5–7 minutes without boiling. Set aside to cool.
- Cook the chicken: Season the chicken with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook in a skillet with olive oil until browned and cooked through.
- Assemble the bowls: Divide rice or quinoa among 4 bowls. Top with hot honey chicken, broccoli, carrots, and avocado slices. Drizzle with additional hot honey and add optional toppings.
Notes
- Adjust the spice level of the hot honey by using more or fewer pepper flakes.
- Leftovers keep well refrigerated and make great meal prep lunches.
