Ingredients
Scale
For the Dough and Filling
- 2 (8 oz) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup cooked bacon, crumbled
- 2–3 jalapeños, seeded and finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Optional Toppings
- Sliced jalapeños
- Extra shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking.
- Prepare the Jalapeño Popper Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, finely chopped jalapeños, minced garlic, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are fully incorporated and creamy.
- Arrange Crescent Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles. Arrange these triangles in a circular pattern on the prepared baking sheet with their wide ends overlapping in the center to form a sun-like shape, with the tips pointing outward.
- Spread Filling and Fold Dough: Spread the jalapeño popper mixture evenly over the wide ends of the dough, leaving the pointed tips free. Fold the tips of each triangle over the filling, tucking the ends underneath to seal the ring securely.
- Apply Egg Wash and Add Toppings: Brush the entire dough ring with the beaten egg to give it a golden-brown finish when baked. Sprinkle additional shredded cheddar cheese and sliced jalapeños on top if desired.
- Bake: Place the ring into the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from oven and allow the ring to cool slightly before slicing into wedges. Serve warm, optionally with ranch dressing or salsa for dipping.
Notes
- Serve with ranch dressing or salsa for a tasty dipping option.
- For milder heat, substitute fresh jalapeños with pickled jalapeños.
- Add cooked shredded chicken to the filling for a more substantial appetizer.
- Use meatless bacon or omit bacon to make this recipe vegetarian friendly.
