- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix
- ½ cup water
For the Base and Topping:
- 1 (16 oz) can refrigerated biscuit dough
- 1 cup sour cream
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 (10 oz) can diced tomatoes with green chiles, drained
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook the beef: Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat, then add taco seasoning and water. Simmer until thickened.
- Prepare the base: Press biscuit dough into the baking dish and bake for 8–10 minutes.
- Make the sour cream mixture: Combine sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Layer the casserole: Arrange beef, onion, bell pepper, and tomatoes over the crust. Spread sour cream mixture and top with cheddar cheese.
- Bake: Bake for 30–35 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Serve: Let it rest before slicing and serving.
