This July Patriotic Fruit Salad is a refreshing and colorful dish perfect for any summer gathering. Bursting with fresh strawberries, blueberries, watermelon, and jicama or apple stars, it’s lightly dressed with a honey-lime vinaigrette for a touch of sweetness. Garnish with fresh mint leaves for a festive flair!

For the salad:
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
- 2 cups fresh blueberries
- 2 cups seedless watermelon, cut into star shapes
- 2 cups jicama or apple, cut into star shapes
For the dressing:
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
Optional garnish:
- Fresh mint leaves
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine strawberries, blueberries, watermelon stars, and jicama or apple stars.
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey and lime juice until smooth.
- Drizzle dressing over fruit and toss gently to coat.
- Transfer to a serving bowl or platter, garnish with mint leaves if desired, and serve chilled.
Notes
- To prevent apples from browning, toss them in a little lime juice before adding to the salad.
- A small star-shaped cookie cutter makes the festive shapes easy to create.
- You can add raspberries for extra red color or swap jicama for pear for a sweeter bite.
