  • 3/4 cup (180ml) warm milk
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) water
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • Dry Ingredients:

  • 3 1/2 cups (420g) all-purpose flour (or bread flour)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

Instructions

  1. Mix Wet Ingredients: Combine sourdough starter, warm milk, water, honey, and softened butter. Add flour and salt, mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  2. Knead: Knead by hand for 8–10 minutes or with a dough hook for 6–7 minutes until smooth.
  3. Rise: Let dough rise at room temperature for 4–6 hours until doubled in size.
  4. Shape: Shape dough into a log, place in a loaf pan, and let rise for 2–4 hours.
  5. Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Cool: Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
