For the Filling:
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup finely shredded cabbage
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes or chili garlic sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For Assembly:
- 12 spring roll or dumpling wrappers
- small bowl of water (for sealing)
- oil for frying
Instructions
- Prepare the Filling: In a bowl, combine ground beef, shredded cabbage, green onions, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, chili flakes, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Assemble the Rolls: Spoon about 1 tablespoon of filling onto a wrapper. Roll tightly, folding in the sides, and seal with water. Repeat for remaining filling.
- Fry the Rolls: Heat oil in a skillet. Fry the rolls in batches until golden and cooked through, about 2–3 minutes per side.
- Serve: Drain on paper towels and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- You can bake the rolls at 400°F (200°C) for 15–18 minutes for a lighter version.
- Serve with soy sauce, chili oil, or a tangy vinegar dip.
- Leftover rolls reheat well in an air fryer.
