Description

This Sweet and Spicy Garlic Steak Pasta is a delicious Asian-fusion dish that combines tender slices of steak with a flavorful garlic and chili-infused sauce, served over fettuccine or linguine noodles. It’s a perfect balance of savory, sweet, and spicy flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces fettuccine or linguine
  • 1 pound flank or sirloin steak (sliced thin against the grain)

For the Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon chili paste or sriracha
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup water

Other:

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Steak: Toss sliced steak with cornstarch and 1 tablespoon soy sauce. Let sit for 5–10 minutes.
  3. Make the Sauce: Mix the remaining soy sauce, brown sugar, chili paste, hoisin sauce, garlic, and water in a small bowl to form the sauce.
  4. Cook the Steak: Heat oil in a large skillet, sear steak until browned. Remove from pan and set aside.
  5. Finish the Dish: Reduce heat, pour the sauce into the skillet, simmer until thickened. Add pasta, toss to coat. Add steak back to the pan, mix together, adding pasta water if needed.
  6. Serve: Top with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Use rice noodles for a gluten-free option.
  • Add bell peppers or snap peas for extra crunch.
  • Adjust chili paste for your preferred spice level.
