Ribs:
- 2 racks baby back pork ribs (about 4 pounds total)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Dry Rub:
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Barbecue Sauce:
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Prepare the ribs: Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs, pat dry, and rub with olive oil.
- Make the dry rub: Mix brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, cumin, and cayenne. Rub the mixture over the ribs.
- Bake the ribs: Wrap in foil, bake for 2 1/2 to 3 hours until tender.
- Glaze and broil: Brush with barbecue sauce, broil for a few minutes until caramelized.
- Serve: Let rest, then slice and serve.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the ribs with the dry rub overnight in the fridge.
- For a smoky finish, grill the ribs after baking.
