Description

Ribs:

  • 2 racks baby back pork ribs (about 4 pounds total)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Dry Rub:

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Barbecue Sauce:

  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Prepare the ribs: Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs, pat dry, and rub with olive oil.
  3. Make the dry rub: Mix brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, cumin, and cayenne. Rub the mixture over the ribs.
  4. Bake the ribs: Wrap in foil, bake for 2 1/2 to 3 hours until tender.
  5. Glaze and broil: Brush with barbecue sauce, broil for a few minutes until caramelized.
  6. Serve: Let rest, then slice and serve.
