Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add Egg and Vanilla: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in Walnuts: Fold in the chopped walnuts.
- Form Dough Balls: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, and place on the prepared baking sheets.
- Flatten and Top: Flatten slightly and top with extra walnut pieces if desired.
- Bake: Bake for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden.
- Cool: Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
